HOTFIX 0.18.8

NinjasDontKnit discovered a pretty bad bug where the GIF exporter wouldn't work at all (I accidentally left an old line of code in there).
This is the hotfix and because I was already on something else you get a few quality of live improvements for the exporter and GIF exporter.

This was meant to be released with 0.19.x
