TL;DR: You can now redeem your steam key on itch.io !
(IF you have any trouble redeeming your steam key, please contact us via twitter, Mastodon, email, discord. This is the first time we are doing it this way)

Everyone who has bought PEBI on itch.io can now redeem a steam key.
We believe that you should not have buy a software twice just for convenience. If you buy it again to support us, it's something different, highly appreciated, but NOT necessary.

We are also updating the PEBI page on our homepage to have all the necessary information, tutorials, FAQ and helpful material.

BUT

Before you redeem your steam key, please be aware that a review from a key that is not bought directly on steam will not count for the god algorithm.

If you redeem PEBI with your steam key from itch, you can, and this is also encouraged, write a review to help us out.
Even if it does not count for the god algorithm, it is still valuable for people interested in PEBI.

In any case, this very long post is only for you to make an informed decision what will happen and when.
It is totally fine to use the steam key. You payed for it already. But if you want to support even further, you now know.

If you want to have the convenience of PEBI on steam but don't can/want to buy/re-buy PEBI right now, the feature complete free demo is also available on steam.

This is also for any game/program you use and like. PLEASE write reviews. It doesn't has to be Shakespeare, a simple "Like it" with a 👍 is all it takes.
Even when the god algorithm on itch is not as god-like as on steam, every little bit helps 🐹💖
